Captain Gary's whale watching was amazing. Not only did we see several gray whales, we also saw sea lions. And this was by far the most comfortable whale boat we have been on. It was warm and smooth even in the bigger chop. Don't hesitate to book with Cpt. Gary you won't be disappointed.

Gary was an amazing captain! He showed us around Sitka and we were able to see so many whales. The entire experience went very smooth and his boat is great. He’s very knowledgable about Sitka and it was an amazing experience. Would 100% recommend to do this when visiting Sitka!

Gary and his crew mate were awesome! My mother is in a wheel chair, Gary was very accommodating. We saw at least 60 Gray Whales. It was a day we wont forget!

Gary and Koali are the nicest people and this tour was a blast. These locals know so much about marine life and Sitka. My friend and I had a blast hanging out with them. Genuinely good people and we were happy to have met them. The boat is perfect size for having space to move around while still being able to hear all of the info being shared and see out the windows. Front and back deck were great for viewing, and the boat was the cleanest I’ve ever been on. They take pride in this business and it shows 🤙 Whales, birds, porpoises, sea otters, sea lions, and beautiful landscape views from the water? I’m there! I will definitely be coming back to Sitka and recommending Sitka Adventures to friends and family traveling through

Captain Gary made our Sitka experience unforgettable! We only spent 2 days in town and he made sure we saw the best that Sitka had to offer. We joined an amazing whale watching tour at a great price. Captain Gary knew all the spots to see wildlife while maintaining a safe distance. He is a friendly and honest person! We are very lucky we met him.

I wish I could give more than five stars. this was amazing. Gary seems to be the guy who knows everyone and u understands to succeed you need to collaborate. he got us out on the water today (April 15th 2024) and made it an experience we will never forget. thank you Gary and Canyon (or is it with a K) and to the friendliest first Mate Niko who is a coat thief lol.

Such an incredible day, on an incredible boat, with an incredible Captain, and his family. I have never been on a boat that I enjoyed more, and all the marine life seemed to enjoy putting on a show for us. I would recommend this to any age, or for any event. A great way to experience every thing the area has to offer with an experienced Captain that knows every inch on a personal level. Everything was perfect.

Captain Gary was fantastic on our whale watching expedition! The knowledge Gary provided was fascinating with insights into the local marine life and ecosystem. Within minutes of our journey, we were greeted by the majestic sight of humpback whales fluking and spouting gracefully in the pristine waters. We had an awesome time on the water with Gary! His love of Sitka really shines through and makes everyone else love it too! The boat was perfect, great visibility and comfort, (while inside we couldn't even tell it was 20 degrees out). Got to see amazing humpback whales and adorable sea lions. We went out on Gary’s beautiful new boat and saw whales, sea lions, otters, eagles and the most magnificent scenery in the world! Also, the boat was incredibly comfortable and spacious, and Gary was a super fun and knowledgeable guide 🙂

I am late in posting this, we (a group of 5) took this tour August of 2022. It was a very memorable tour, and I say this because after all this time, and other trips since, the 5 of us still talk about how great this tour was. THANK YOU for the lasting and truly wonderful experience/tour.

Such a great tour! I apologize, it was back over the summer, but I believe Alyssa was our guide. She was incredibly informative, kind, and funny. We did the best of the land tour and it was a lovely time. She also gave us some fantastic recommendations for lunch and shopping once the tour ended.

We thoroughly enjoyed the experience we had with Darren on the Land Tour. We were able to visit the Sitka National Historical Park, The Raptor Center, and the Fortress of the Bears. Even though the scenic ride was spectacular, it was an added bonus that we were given 30ish minutes to walk around at each place we stopped at. Highly recommend!

On August 22, 2023 me and my friends had an incredible experience on the sea and land tour in Sitka, Alaska! The breathtaking scenery of the ocean waters, green coastline, and sea lions and whales watching were absolutely spectacular. Gary and his team shared fascinating facts about the local wildlife, culture and history, told about today’s life at Sitka. Gary took us to the bay to watch wild bears fishing salmons! Land tour was on a comfortable van (we were a group of 12 ) , with a nice guide who took us to see local highlights . It was an amazing time we spent at Sitka! Me and my friends highly recommend this combo tour to anyone looking for an unforgettable Alaskan adventure!

Capt Gary began our Alaskan adventure with a bang! The first morning we arrived we got to see whales and bears from the water and got great photos. Being a native Sitkan, he so knowledgeable about the area and shared many interesting facts, stories and recommendations. Darren took us for our afternoon portion of the trip. He was a wonderful guide and thoughtful and informative with the many questions we posed. He really tailored the stops to what our small group wanted to do. I would highly recommend Captain Gary and his tours, you won't be disappointed!

We had the best time going out on the boat with Capt. Gary in Sitka this past month. One of the highlights of our trip. He is a local and knows the waters well. He made sure to try and find what we wanted to see---humpback whales, puffins, sea otter, sea lions and seals. We had such an amazing day---highly recommend him for an excursion in Sitka. Easy communication before hand and just an all around great guy. Gave us some local recommendations that were spot on also!! When we return to Sitka we will be making the first call to Gary to go out on his boat.

We are so happy we took The Best of Sitka tour! So worth it! Private party was great! No need for expensive cruise ship prices!
